Zakat estimate from your books

Once a Hijri year, see what your business holds less what it owes, the nisab from today's gold price, and the 2.5 % zakat when it reaches it.

  1. Open Accounting → Zakat (Pro) and choose your zakat day: the day your zakat year ends. It is kept on this device, with the next one a Hijri year later.
  2. Cash, bank, what customers owe, VAT still to pay and gift cards come from your books on that day; products on the shelf and ingredients from your inventory and recipes, at cost. Change any figure, and add money or debts the books do not have.
  3. Type today's price of a gram of 24 carat gold: the nisab is 85 g. When what the business holds less what it owes reaches it, zakat is 2.5 % of it.

An estimate

This is worked out from your books to help you, not a religious ruling. Check it with a scholar or zakat office you trust. In Saudi Arabia, companies file zakat with ZATCA.
